Thrapston Sports association is a community facility that is home to Thrapston's Sport including Football, Cricket and Rounders.

As well as hosting sports matches, the clubhouse can be hired for family occasions or corporate events.

The club was formed and built in 1975 and was initially for the local football,cricket and hockey clubs. Originally The changing rooms were where in the current lounge and the club was initially a wooden building. The project to build a new club house originated from members of the various clubs needing a clubhouse and better changing rooms and various meetings were made with the local parish council to get the scheme approved. Most of the work involved in the construction of the building was undertaken by members of the various sporting teams.Over the years the club has been substantially updated and facilities improved, undertaken by the local community, committee members and the teams that use the space.

As well as hosting sports matches the clubhouse hosts monthly band nights, normal entry costs £4.00 and is open to the public. New Years eve is particuly busy advance tickets are required and does often sell out.

We also have a FREE Family Boxing Day Disco open to the public- feel free to bring all the family for your own party including bringing your own food.

The clubhouse can be hired for family occasions or corporate events. The hall holds upto 120 people with seating around a dance floor or we can set out a more formal style with table and chairs as required. A fully stocked bar with an entertainments licence. There is a large patio outside overlooking the sports field, and plenty of parking in the car park.

The cost to hire the main hall is £60.00 this includes providing bar staff. If you require further space our outdoor marquee can be added for an additional £40.00 (A £25.00 deposit is required on bookings) for further information either email us on thrapstonsportsassociation@outlook.com or tel: 01832734879.

A children’s party (Max age 13yrs) can be booked for a Sunday afternoon between the hours of 12-4pm at a cost of £10.00 per hour . The hire will cover the main hall, 1 member of staff covering the bar, toilets and outside area if required. A £25.00 deposit is required when booking.

The Sports Field also hosts the towns annual firework display. A monthly band night and a boxing day disco.

Thrapston Cricket Club

Thrapston CC are a family orientated club whose ethos is to involve everyone
in cricket whatever their ability and progress them to the highest level
they can achieve.

We have three open age teams on Saturday playing in the Northants League and
two on Sunday - one in the Rutland League and our Women's and Girls' team
playing in the Women's Midlands League. Our junior section comprises seven
teams, one at Under 17, one at Under 15, three at Under 13 and two at Under
11. One of the Under 13 teams is a girls one that played alongside the boys
in the Wilson Browne League.

Thrapston Football Club

Our club was founded in 1960 by Dennis Morson as Thrapston Ventura and first played in the Kettering Amateur League. We quickly moved up the ladder with a series of promotions and in 1967 contested the Northants Junior Cup Final losing to Kings Sutton.

By the seventies Ventura were among the local leading lights, dominating the KAL with championships in 1970–71, 1972–73, 1973–74, 1976–77 and 1977–78

In 1978 we moved up to Division Two of the United Counties League, finishing third in their first season and were subsequently placed in Division One after league restructuring. The clubs first success saw the Reserves win the Lower Junior Cup in 1981. The first team followed suit in 1989 with a 5-1 replay drubbing of Perkins Sports brought the Junior Cup to Chancery Lane. Further cup success followed in 1999 when we beat Bugbrooke in a penalty shoot out, in 2001 when Division One Champions Daventry Town were beaten 3-1 and in 2004, a 3-0 victory over Cottingham at Nene Park brought the curtain down on the lengthy managerial reign of Gary Petts. 2011-12 saw the club struggle to retain its Premier Division status and unfortunately we were relegated to return to Division One despite the gallant attempts of two different managers.

Following a transitional period under Ian Walker in December 2013 the club appointed Richard Scott as first team manager,replacing Ian who departed to Desborough Town. Richard left the club in November to be replaced by the return of Ian Walker from Desborough Town.

2016-17 season finds the club with a new Chairman in former player and coach Barry Carter, replacing Gary Petts who left due to work commitments.

Thrapston Town Football Club have two mens teams in the United Counties League and a 2013-14 double winning Ladies team all based at Chancery Lane. The club also held a successful 2016 summer tournament with the welcome addition of ladies teams for the first time.

As season 2016-17 progresses, our First Team have reached the FA Vase First Round Proper, the furthest the club has progressed in the competition.

Thrapston Ladies Rounders

Thrapston Ladies Rounders is a community team that is part of the Northants League, the season runs from April too August and is a fantastic way to be social and keep fit.
